How to make a Daiquiri - the Cuban classic of white rum, lime juice and sugar syrup. This is how the perfect sour cocktail succeeds.
The Daiquiri is proof that three ingredients are enough to build a perfect cocktail. Invented around 1900 in the Cuban mining town of the same name, it unites rum, lime and sugar into a timeless sour. Hemingway loved it - and with fresh lime it still tastes crystal clear today.
Instructions
- Pre-chill the coupe, ideally by filling it with ice cubes and setting it aside.
- Add rum, lime juice and sugar syrup to the shaker.
- Fill with plenty of ice and shake vigorously for 12 to 15 seconds.
- Tip the ice out of the coupe and double-strain the drink.
- Garnish with a lime slice and serve immediately.
