The 151 Swizzle is a high-proof tiki classic that tames the powerful overproof rum with lime, spicy falernum and Angostura. Swizzled over crushed ice, it becomes ice-cold and wonderfully aromatic - a drink for lovers of intense flavors.

Instructions

  1. Fill a highball glass halfway with crushed ice.
  2. Add rum, lime juice, falernum and sugar syrup to the glass.
  3. Stir briskly with a swizzle stick until the outside of the glass fogs up.
  4. Top up to the rim with more crushed ice.
  5. Drizzle Angostura Bitters over the top and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Garnish: Freshly grated nutmeg

Pro tip: Stir with a swizzle stick (or bar spoon) until the outside of the glass frosts over - this dilutes and chills the drink just right.
