The 151 Swizzle is a high-proof tiki classic that tames the powerful overproof rum with lime, spicy falernum and Angostura. Swizzled over crushed ice, it becomes ice-cold and wonderfully aromatic - a drink for lovers of intense flavors.
Instructions
- Fill a highball glass halfway with crushed ice.
- Add rum, lime juice, falernum and sugar syrup to the glass.
- Stir briskly with a swizzle stick until the outside of the glass fogs up.
- Top up to the rim with more crushed ice.
- Drizzle Angostura Bitters over the top and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Garnish: Freshly grated nutmeg
Pro tip: Stir with a swizzle stick (or bar spoon) until the outside of the glass frosts over - this dilutes and chills the drink just right.
