Horsefeather

The Horsefeather is a refreshing highball from the American Midwest and is considered the spicy answer to the Moscow Mule. Instead of vodka, bourbon takes the lead here, combined with spicy ginger beer, lemon and a few dashes of Angostura. The result is fizzy, spicy and surprisingly easy to drink.
Instructions

- Pour the bourbon and lemon juice over the ice.
- Top up with ginger beer.
- Add the dashes of Angostura on top.
- Stir briefly and garnish with a lemon wedge.
Garnish: A lemon wedge
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Horsefeather and a Moscow Mule?
Both use ginger beer, but the Horsefeather uses bourbon instead of vodka plus a few dashes of Angostura. That makes it spicier and fuller-bodied.
Which whiskey works for a Horsefeather?
A classic bourbon with vanilla and caramel notes works best. A rye whiskey also works and makes the drink a touch drier.
Ginger beer or ginger ale?
An authentic Horsefeather calls for spicy ginger beer. Ginger ale is milder and sweeter and clearly changes the character of the drink.
