The Chartreuse Daiquiri is a refined twist on the Cuban classic: white rum and fresh lime meet the herbal, complex green Chartreuse. The result is refreshing and at the same time layered. A drink for everyone who already knows the classic Daiquiri.
Instructions
- Add rum, green Chartreuse, lime juice and sugar syrup to a shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake vigorously for about 12 seconds until the outside frosts over.
- Double-strain into a pre-chilled coupe.
- Garnish with a lime twist and serve.
Garnish: Lime twist
Pro tip: Green Chartreuse is very intense - dose it on the lighter side, otherwise it overpowers the delicate freshness of the Daiquiri.
Frequently asked questions
What distinguishes it from the classic Daiquiri?
The green Chartreuse brings in a complex herbal note that gives the otherwise clear rum-lime profile more depth.
Can you also use yellow Chartreuse?
Yes, yellow Chartreuse is sweeter and milder, in which case you should reduce the sugar syrup a little.
Why double-strain?
This keeps ice splinters out of the glass and keeps the drink clear and silky in texture.
