The Art of Choke is a modern tiki classic that combines the bitter Cynar with white rum, Green Chartreuse and lime into a complex drink. Fresh mint and crushed ice turn the herbaceous, bitter base into a surprisingly drinkable cocktail.

Instructions

  1. Lightly press the mint in the tumbler.
  2. Add rum, Cynar, Green Chartreuse, lime juice and sugar syrup.
  3. Fill up with crushed ice.
  4. Swizzle vigorously until the glass frosts over.
  5. Top up with more crushed ice and garnish with mint.

Garnish: Mint sprig

Pro tip: Lightly press the mint in the glass before stirring, then it releases its fresh aroma without turning bitter.
