The Last Word is a fascinating gin cocktail from the pre-Prohibition era, mixed in exactly equal parts. The powerful green Chartreuse meets maraschino, lime and gin and makes a surprisingly harmonious, complex drink. After decades in obscurity it made a spectacular comeback.
Instructions
- Add gin, green Chartreuse, maraschino and lime juice to the shaker in equal parts.
- Add plenty of ice.
- Shake vigorously for about 12 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled coupe.
- Garnish with a cocktail cherry and serve.
