Frequently asked questions
What kind of cocktail is the Martinez?
The Martinez is considered the historical forerunner of the modern Dry Martini and is sweeter and more aromatic, as it contains more vermouth and maraschino.
Is the Martinez shaken or stirred?
Since it consists only of spirits and liqueur, the Martinez is stirred. This keeps it clear and silky.
Which gin works best?
Classically an Old Tom gin is used, which is a little sweeter. But a London Dry Gin also works and makes the drink drier.
