Cameron’s Kick is an unusual whisky sour from the Savoy Cocktail Book: smoky Scotch and mild Irish whiskey meet lemon and nutty orgeat. Instead of classic sugar, the almond syrup provides an elegant, layered sweetness.

Instructions

  1. Add Scotch, Irish whiskey, lemon juice and orgeat to the shaker.
  2. Add plenty of ice cubes.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 12 seconds.
  4. Double-strain into a chilled coupe.
  5. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.

Garnish: Lemon twist

Pro tip: A slightly smoky Scotch lends the drink an exciting depth that pairs surprisingly well with the sweet almond note of the orgeat.
