The Tokyo Iced Tea is the bright green version of the Long Island Iced Tea: five spirits, rounded off with Japanese Midori melon liqueur. The sweet melon note and the striking color make it a real eye-catcher. A strong party drink that hides its power behind fruitiness.

Instructions

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
  2. Add vodka, rum, gin, tequila and melon liqueur to the glass.
  3. Add a dash of lemon juice.
  4. Top up with lemon-lime soda and stir briefly.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

Garnish: Lime wedge

Pro tip: The melon liqueur provides not only the bright green color but also the sweet note - don't pour it too sparingly.

Frequently asked questions

The bright green color comes from the Japanese melon liqueur Midori, which also gives the drink its name.

How does the Tokyo differ from the Long Island Iced Tea?

Instead of cola and triple sec, melon liqueur goes in, which makes the drink sweeter, fruitier and strikingly green.
